Exhibitors

A true showcase of local talent of all ages that has grown on tradition, our Exhibitions celebrate the best of our community. From homemade goods to arts and crafts, flowers, crops, produce, antique machinery and livestock shows —there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re entering to compete or just coming to admire, the Exhibitions are a must-see part of the Fair experience.

CUMBERLAND TOWNSHIP AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY RULES AND REGULATIONS

Exhibitors and Competitors

All exhibitors and competitors 13 years and over must be General or Exhibitor members of the Society.
Entry fees for Alpaca and Rural Features and Crops will be paid by exhibitors to the Fair Office on or before the dates specified. The Cattle and Light Horse entry fees will be deducted from the prize money paid at a rate of 20%, Heavy Horse 15%, Western Horse 10%. Livestock (cattle and horse) Exhibitor Membership for the following year will also be deducted from any prize money, except Alpaca.
Exhibitors with late or post entries will be charged gate admission plus regular entry fees.
Exhibitors competing at the Navan Fair will be allotted the following number of passes per
animal entered. Entries must be received by the requested closing date for passes to be
distributed to the exhibitor. Late entries will not receive entry passes and must pay at the gate.

Heavy Horses and Horse Pull	1 drop pass per animal to a maximum of 8 passes
Light Horses, Western Horses	1 to 2 animals = 1 drop pass 3 or more animals = 2 drop passes
Beef, Dairy	1 to 5 animals = 2 drop passes 6 or more = 3 drop passes
Alpaca	1 to 5 animals = 2 drop passes
Additional drop passes will be available at the discretion of the division Director.

All entries must be accompanied by proper address, or the Society will not be responsible for payment of prize money or issuing memberships and passes.
Buildings will be open for the placing of exhibits as specified in each section.
Exhibitors or Competitors must leave all exhibits in place until specific time in each section under penalty of forfeiture of all prize monies won.
Only one entry in an exhibit or competition does not imply such entry will receive first or any prize but be left to the discretion of the Judges.
No person shall act as Judge for awarding prizes for the class in which they are a Competitor.
In the case of a tie between Exhibitors or Competitors for a special award of prizes, the one with the greatest number of first prizes will be declared the winner.
Prize winners are requested to cash their cheques promptly. Cheques not received by the Royal Bank of Canada by November 30th of each year will be void. All such cheques will be considered a donation to this Society.
Prize winners in the exhibit building are requested to collect their cash winnings within 30 days of the Navan Fair. Prize money can be picked up at the Fair office. Prize money not claimed by September 15th will be considered a donation to this Society.
Special awards not claimed by the individuals or their authorized representatives before September 15th will be forfeited.
The Directors reserve the right to retain a percentage of all premiums or awards payable, sufficient to safeguard the Society from any loss. In the event of the cancelling of any sections of the show, entry fees will be returned, and no prize money will be paid.
The Exhibitor(s) shall be always responsible for their exhibit at the Navan Fair. The Society accepts no responsibility whatever, expressed or implied, for accident, damage, injury or loss to any person, animal, vehicle, or goods on any grounds or in any buildings owned by or under its jurisdiction.
No person may interfere with the Judges, Directors, or Officers of the Society, or use any abusive or contemptuous language in their presence. Such conduct may incur the forfeiture of their right to any premium to which they otherwise may have been entitled. Disqualifications under this rule may be published with the list of awards.
All Directors must abide by the CTAS Constitution, By-law, and the Rules and Regulations. They will review their individual Rules and Regulations for their division annually. Major changes must be approved by the Board of Directors.

Entries

ENTRIES

All entries must be completed online through Assist Expo. If not able, they can be completed using the paper form and submitted to the office prior to the entry closing date.
All exhibitors and competitors 13 years and over must be General or Exhibitor members of the Society. To ensure you are paying the correct fee, members are encouraged to include their age in their Assist Expo profile and ensure they select the correct Membership type, as follows:

Senior general membership (65+)
Regular general membership (ages 18 to 64)
Youth membership (ages 13 to 17)
Exhibitor membership (ages 18 to 64)
Senior exhibitor membership (65+)

No person shall be allowed to enter for competition more than one specimen in any section. This rule does not apply to livestock or antique exhibits, but applies to arts and crafts (homecraft), culinary science, education, rural features and crops, floriculture, and fruits and vegetables, to which each individual specimen would necessarily be precisely similar to the first.
Exhibitors will please take notice that it is absolutely required that the entries be made on or before the dates listed, in order to afford sufficient time to examine the entry papers, forward the admission passes if applicable, and to correspond with parties when necessary, and for the correction of errors and omissions. Proof of liability insurance of at least two million dollars must accompany entries for livestock.
Unless where specified in the livestock classes, the entry must, in every instance, be made in the name of the “bona fide” owner and unless this rule is observed, no premium will be awarded, or if awarded, will be withheld. If any person shall forfeit any premium which may be awarded to them, they will be precluded from exhibiting for a period of one year.
In all other classes, entries must be made in the names of the producers or manufacturers only, and by such producers themselves in person or their agents, who must have special authority for doing so and shall produce the authority in writing if required by the judges or directors.
In classes of purebred stock, the registered number and names of animals must accompany entries. This clause to be strictly enforced.
Stabling is available through Assist Expo and should be reserved and paid for when making the online entries.

Judges and Judging

Volunteers, Directors and Office Staff

VOLUNTEERS, DIRECTORS AND OFFICE STAFF

Any person who shall attempt to interfere with any volunteer, director or office staff while in the
discharge of their duties on the premises of the Society or within the volunteers, directors, office staff hearing, or uses any contemptuous or abusive language to any volunteer, director or office staff, shall forfeit their right to exhibit, participate in or attend events on the fairgrounds, and may be excluded from exhibiting or attending the event for one year or more years thereafter. Volunteers, directors, and office staff are required to immediately report any such breach of this rule.

Notice to All Exhibitors RE Personal Information

Be advised that the Cumberland Township Agricultural Society is committed to using personal
information in a respectful and useful way. This consists of mailings (posted or electronic) and
telephone calls to provide information about membership; issue receipts for said membership; provide information about the Navan Fair and other special events; and provide newsletter information. The Cumberland Township Agricultural Society will never disclose your personal information to any third party; it will not sell, trade, or rent personal information to other organizations or individuals.

The Cumberland Township Agricultural Society reserves the right to publish exhibitor names and
respective town of winning entries, in local newspapers, social media, and on its website.

Exhibition Hall Pick-up and Drop-off

Blue Building exhibits must be brought to the Exhibit Building (no. 8) on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Judging will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2026. The Exhibit building will be closed until approximately 5 pm, or until judging is finished and the displays are assembled.
Exhibits cannot be removed until after 4:30 pm, Sunday, August 9, 2026. The Exhibit Building will be closed at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2026, for disassembly of the displays. (This usually takes approximately half an hour.)
NO PICK-UPS WILL BE ALLOWED UNTIL AFTER THIS DISASSEMBLY FOR SAFETY REASONS.
The Agricultural Society is not responsible for exhibits not claimed after 6 pm.
Prize money may be picked up at the Fair office any time after 4:30pm on Friday or throughout the weekend. Prizes not claimed by September 30, 2026, will be considered as a donation to the CTAS.
